5 Ways You Can Help During the Covid-19 Pandemic
As my catering work has paused with social distancing, I'm using the opportunity to help those most affected by the pandemic. Bringing food to NY-area hospitals and first-responders, turning my tablecloths into masks, donating Chefanie.com profits, and keeping those at home busy with my quarantine cooking hotline are some of the ways that I'm trying to help.
Here are 5 ways you can help during the Covid-19 Pandemic:
DONATE FOOD
At this time, the hospitals are over capacity, and those on the frontline are working to exhaustion, with little time to eat. If you know doctors, nurses, medical residents or administrators at hospitals, see when they would like a meal delivery. You can also call hospitals or EMS stations directly to coordinate.
DONATE FABRIC
Many fashion houses and seamstresses are donating their time to sew masks. If you have unused cotton fabric, it will alleviate their costs to produce face coverings.
DONATE MONEY
15% of Chefanie.com profits are being donated to HELP USA. Beyond, I'm writing checks to:
- HELP USA
- City Harvest
- World Central Kitchen
- NY Health & Hospitals
DONATE YOUR SERVICES
If you are a marketer, art advisor, cook, teacher, expert in anything, you can donate your time to those less fortunate.
