Seed Crackers

Gluten Free Sugar Free Dairy Free Seed Cracker.jpg

This recipe was adapted from Magnus Nilsson’s recipe for Gwyneth Paltrow’s The Clean Plate, and it has quickly become my favorite healthy snack and hors d’oeuvres vehicle. They are gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, and so delicious!

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup flaxseeds

2 T tapioca starch

1 t kosher salt

1/2 cup black sesame seeds

1/2 cup white sesame seeds

1/2 cup pumpkin seeds

2 cups boiling water

1 T Montreal spice

DIRECTIONS:

  • Preheat oven to 320 degrees F

  • Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl, mix, and let stand for 15 minutes

  • Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper

  • Pour half of the mixture onto each baking sheet and flatten with a non-stick spatula. The cracker sheet should be about 3 seeds thick.

  • Sprinkle with Montreal Spice

  • Bake for 45 minutes or until the cracker is dry

  • Break into large pieces

  • Enjoy with hummus, tzatziki, smoked salmon, eggs, or by itself.
