Chocolate Covered Matzah Toffee ("Crack")

Totally addictive ... one of my favorite Passover desserts.
INGREDIENTS:
  • 4 square Matzah sheets 
  • 2.25 sticks of butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar 
  • 1.5 cups chocolate chips 
  • Optional: Coarse salt, nuts, sprinkles, sesame seeds, edible gold leaf
DIRECTIONS: 
  • Preheat oven to 350F 
  • Lay matzah sheets on a parchment lined baking sheet
  • Melt butter in a sauce pan 
  • Mix in brown sugar 
  • Over a medium high flame, continuously whisk the mixture. When it is bubbly, continue whisking for 3 more minutes
  • Pour the mixture over the matzah and spread evenly, so the matzah is fully covered
  • Bake for 8 minutes until bubbly
  • Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the matzah and bake 1 more minute
  • Spread the chocolate chips evenly over the matzah 
  • Sprinkle any optional toppings
  • Allow to harden and break into smaller pieces 
  • Serve 

Enough for 4 people? Active time 10 minutes, total time 20 minutes.
