5 Tips To Personalize Your Event
Chef Stephanie Nass, a.k.a. Chefanie, is the ultimate entertaining doyenne - a girl about town who's forever on the guest list, and forever making a guest list. Of course, nothing passes the eye of this professional hostess, no detail too small to be left unturned.
The regular events she cooks up for Victory Club, the arts and dining club she founded in 2014, can be spotted from miles away, leaving trails of her signature touches, from painted menus, hand-embroidered napkins, even cakes dressed with her custom Chefanie Sheets.
Take note of her five simple steps to personalizing any party, and prepare to be the belle of your own ball!
1. Invitations
For each of my parties, I always opt for hand painted invitations sent through Paperless Post. Painting the menus adds an intimate, personal touch to the digital request.
2. Prosecco
I always like to hand people a glass of bubbly as they walk through the door. After all, Prosecco says party, in every language!
3. Tablescape
I always include embroidered napkins at everyone’s place setting. For Victory Club events, the logo (a stag molding from the Imperial Hotel in Vienna) is embroidered in white thread on a white linen napkin. There's just something about white-on-white that's so discreet and elegant.
More than flowers, I insist on art as the centerpiece of the table. When a sculpture is literally the center of the table and conversation, it inspires a dialogue around the culinary and visual arts, my passions and the mission of Victory Club.
Menus (also handpainted) double as namecards. Not to mention, they're a fun souvenir guests can take along with them after the meal.
4. Dessert
I always like to offer guests warm cookies, served on the baking tray, between the entree & cake course. A sprinkle of Urbani truffle salt makes the traditional chocolate chip cookie even more irresistible. Just check out my favorite recipe here!
And to liven up any dessert table, cakes dressed with my custom Chefanie Sheets always make a statement.
5. Guests
The most important thing for any meal is the people. A diverse group of guests from a range of industries, generations, and nationalities is why we make the effort with painted menus, embroidered napkins, and artistic cakes. Invite interesting people, and they'll appreciate your interesting details!
